Siren’s Call by Devyn Quinn

Siren’s Call - coming August 3, 2010

Between desire and love there are some things that can’t stay buried, even in the deep of the ocean.
As a woman with a secret, lighthouse keeper Tessa Lonike savors her solitude on the island of Little Mer, off the coast of Maine. During a violent storm, Tessa spots a man thrashing in the ice cold waters and dives in to save him, using her ability as a mermaid to easily pull him to shore.
When Kenneth Randall awakens on the beach he is alone, left with the haunting memory of his beautiful, flame-haired savior. But a year later, when Kenneth meets her again, he’s determined not to let Tessa slip away. Just as the desire between them begins to burn, Tessa’s archaeologist ex-lover comes back to town with a tantalizing clue to her murky heritage.
The trio travel to the Mediterranean in search of answers, and when Tessa inadvertently opens an underwater portal they find a lost mermaid city. But in the deep, not everything is as it seems, and Tessa must decide if she wants to take her place as the royal heir, or follow the call of her heart…

“Siren’s Call is a thoroughly mesmerizing ride — Quinn throws open the doors to an unbelievable world where nothing is as expected. At once terrifying and fascinating and unbelievably entertaining, this is a book you won’t forget.” -Kate Douglas, bestselling author of Wolf Tales & The DemonSlayers

Retirement

There is a big debate going on in Europe about at what age people should retire. It used to be for women at 55-60 years and for men 60-65. But since demographic situation in Europe is not so great, we lack young people and the estimation is that there won't be enough workers in about 10 years, the smart bureaucrats have found the solution - we will keep women at work until they are 65 and men until 70 years old. I think they should think more about the real problem and that’s: Why people don't have more children (the average is 1,8)?
So while you think about that - please look at the picture beneath and tell me do you think that our offices will soon look like that?  :)
Have a great day!

Lords of the Underworld

Allow me to remind you about great book series called Lords of the Underworld - Long ago, twelve immortals warriors – each more dangerously seductive than the last -- stole and opened Pandora’s box, unleashing the evil from within. Now they carry that evil within themselves. Violence, Pain, Death, Disease, Disaster, Misery, Doubt, Promiscuity, Defeat, Lies, Secrets, and Wrath. When a powerful enemy returns, they will travel the world in search of a sacred relic of the gods – one that threatens to destroy them all.

And the newest book is coming out soon - The Darkest Passion - May 25th, 2010

Here's a little bit about it:

For weeks, the immortal warrior Aeron has sensed an invisible female presence. An angel--a demon-assassin--has been sent to kill him. Or has she? Olivia claims she fell from the heavens, giving up immortality because she couldn't bear to harm him. But trusting - and falling for - Olivia will endanger them all. So how has this 'mortal' with the huge blue eyes already unleashed Aeron's darkest passion?

Now, with an enemy hot on his trail and his faithful demon companion determined to remove Olivia from his life, Aeron is trapped between duty and consuming desire. Worse still, a new executioner has been sent to do the job Olivia wouldn't...

Don't you just love that cover? And the story sounds great to ;)

Do you want to know how a person looks like...

after Metallica concert? And if you add a non-stop rain for the last two weeks and that the event was held at the hippodrome under the blue sky (that wasn't blue at all, but covered with heavy rain) - mix all that and you will get this:
One lucky person who was glad she could see this great band and be a part of this spectacle!

I have a mother of headaches and feel like the train run over me, but nothing can erase the smile from my face :) It was great! The guys played great - for 2 hours. All the mud and rain couldn't ruin the awesomeness of their play.
Here are some more photos.

Pride and Prejudice

Are you a Jane Austen Fan? I'm, I just love her books. But BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite movies/series. It's a six episodes series with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. I recently bought a DVD and watched the whole series in two days - and fell in love again. I just can't get enough of Mr Darcy or Mr Collins (for him not in a romantic way). Although the story takes place 19th century, many things are the same as today, all the gossip and scandal are just the same.
Here is one of my favourite scenes from P&P

Hope you enjoyed it! Have a great day :)
